Kent City Schools Career Technical Education Addition Groundbreaking

Kent City Schools Ribbon Cutting

On Thursday, April 24, 2025, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of Kent City School District's new Engineering and Advanced Technologies Center. It was a beautiful day to memorialize this state-of-the-art facility with the District, State of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, the Six District Educational Compact, and members of the local business community.

The 3,800 square-foot facility includes classroom and collaboration space to support three high-demand CTE programs:

  • Computer-Aided Design & Engineering Technologies,
  • Engineering Academy, and
  • Electronics, Robotics, & Programming.

Students across all member districts of the Six District Educational Compact—Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Kent, Stow-Monroe Falls, Tallmadge, and Woodridge—will have access to these innovative programs to gain the skills needed to enter the workforce. We look forward to the endless opportunities this expansion will bring for the students of today and tomorrow!

"I would be remiss if I didn't recognize [the Community Development Director for the City of Kent. She] worked closely with Kent City Schools, our architectural partners at Hasenstab, and 91̽»¨ Construction to move this project from planning to groundbreaking in August to a fully operational facility in just six months. That kind of coordination and commitment is rare, and we are truly grateful for everything that has occurred between our construction, architectural, and City partners. Thank you!"-ÌýBrian Bachtel, Director of Career-Technical Education, Kent City Schools Theodore Roosevelt High School
